Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

Transalloys warns of permanent closure of South Africa’s last manganese smelter

Manganese ferroalloys producer Transalloys has fully stopped its ferroalloys production in Mpumalanga on July 1, with no indication of when operations may resume. The company highlights that the suspension of smelting places about 600 permanent jobs and an estimated 7 000 downstream livehoods at risk as the company prepares to phase out its plant.
