What the Renewable Energy (IPP) Projects have contributed to the Small Medium Micro Enterprises in South Africa

The purpose of this presentation is to provide the information on what the Renewable Energy (IPP) Projects have contributed to the Small Medium Micro Enterprises in South Africa.
The support for SMME’s are expected to continue to increase annually.
The support is also expected to increase once all the projects from BW4 finalise Construction and enter the Operations Measurement Period.

Ramaphosa touts progress as G20 faces boycotts, scepticism

As South Africa hosts the G20 leadership summit this week, President Cyril Ramaphosa has positioned the moment as evidence of national progress. Yet the broader economic picture remains mixed, with many of the country’s underlying structural problems persisting despite pockets of improvement. Ramaphosa’s upbeat public messaging has been somewhat undermined by the fact that the leaders from several of the world’s leading economies have declined to attend the G20, including US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Argentinian President Javier Milei. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s attendance also remains uncertain.

Car makers, Numsa sign three-year wage deal

The Automobile Manufacturers Employers Organisation (Ameo) and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) have finally signed a wage agreement, following a protracted process that included nine rounds of negotiations and a declared deadlock. The three-year deal allows for a 7% across-the-board wage increase in the first year, backdated to July 1, 2025, and a 5.5% increase in both years two and three.

DWS to open five sluice gates at Vaal dam

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has opened five sluice gates at the Vaal dam on Monday following heavy rainfall in Gauteng. The gates were opened in hourly intervals between 10:00 and 13:00, increasing the water outflows from 60 mᵌ/s to 700 mᵌ/s.

Africa Central Banks set to usher in wave of rate cuts as year ends

A wave of African central banks is set to cut interest rates at their final policy meetings of the year as inflation eases, a move that could reinvigorate economic growth. Major central banks in Egypt, Ghana, Angola, South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria will announce policy decisions in the coming weeks, along with smaller economies such as Lesotho, Namibia and Botswana.
