Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

Transnet terminates employment of Pepi Silinga by 'mutual agreement'

Transnet has announced that employment of the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) CEO Pepi Silinga was terminated effective July 16 by "mutual agreement". Silinga, who joined TNPA from the Coega Development Corporation in 2020, had been facing disciplinary charges since June 2024, following a forensic report into a tender at the Port of Ngqura.

SAWEM School ‘oversubscribed’ as NTCSA gears up for launch of market platform

The National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) reports strong interest in its recently launch three-day educational programme to prepare potential participants for the launch next year of the South African Wholesale Electricity Market (SAWEM). The first official SAWEM School was hosted at the Wits Business School in late July and attracted more than 60 participants, drawn from academia, trading companies, large power users, the NTCSA itself and various other entities. It followed on from an earlier pilot school that involved more than 40 participants.
