Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

R3.4bn investment positions Traxtion for 2026 entry onto South Africa’s freight rail network

Private railways company Traxtion expects to begin operating on South Africa’s mainline network by the third quarter of 2026 after concluding a R3.4-billion rolling stock investment programme. The Harith-owned company described the acquisition as the largest private freight rail investment in South Africa’s history and said it was aligned with reforms under way to open the country’s rail system to private train operating companies (TOCs).
