Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

Panellists highlight progress, challenges in transitioning to a circular economy in South Africa

With growing waste generation and limited landfill space in South Africa, sustainable resource management, extended producer responsibility (EPR), resource recovery and waste innovation play an important role in shaping the local circular economy. With this in mind, panellists participating in Creamer Media’s Circular Economy webinar, held on July 29, explored various topics, such as the progress being made in implementing EPR regulations and how South Africa can address growing pressure being placed on landfill capacity, inconsistent waste collection services and the need for investment in recycling and recovery infrastructure.
