Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

Nersa releases latest version of draft trading rules for public comment

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has called for public comment on revised draft rules for electricity trading as part of a second round of consultations after Eskom raised objections to an initial draft published in November 2025. In a statement, Nersa said the updated draft rules had been significantly expanded and revised to incorporate stakeholder comments that were made during the initial consultation process.
