Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

Nordex internship programme closing the wind energy skills gap

Two years after its inaugural launch, Nordex Energy South Africa’s internship programme continues to build a pipeline of skilled technicians to service and manage wind farms. To date, 14 young engineers, with a minimum N4 qualification in electrical, mechanical or mechatronics disciplines, have been provided practical training opportunities aligned with the increasing demand for specialised skills within the wind industry.

Competition Commission approves merger within the local aerospace, defence sector

The Competition Commission announced on Wednesday that it had approved the takeover of Paramount Aerospace Holdings by Aerospace Holdings. “The commission is of the view that the proposed transaction is unlikely to substantially lessen or prevent competition in any market,” it stated. The Paramount Aerospace Holdings group embraced Paramount Aerospace Industries, Paramount Aerospace Innovation and Paramount Aerospace Systems. Between them, they undertake the manufacture, assembly and supply of components for aircraft and avionics, as well as the design, development and manufacture of the Advanced High-Performance Reconnaissance Light Aircraft (better known by the acronym AHRLAC).

Pan-African technology group Cassava Technologies and Stanlib Infrastructure Investments have entered into a strategic investment partnership to accelerate the rapid expansion of Africa Data Centres' footprint in South Africa. The strategic partnership will allow Africa Data Centres to cater to the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the country.
