Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

Cape Town mayoral committee greenlights long-delayed precinct development at Bellville ...

The City of Cape Town’s (CoCT’s) mayoral committee has greenlit the long-delayed private sector upgrade to the Bellville Athletics Track by the successful bidder in the tender issued in 2009 for the development of the precinct – Devmet Property Developments. The existing cycling track – the velodrome – will not be retained as part of the redevelopment, and will be upgraded into a concert and events space.

South Africa gets more foot-and-mouth vaccine doses as it battles to contain outbreak

South Africa's government said on Wednesday that it had received 2 million doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine from Turkey, as authorities intensify efforts to contain the country's worst outbreak in years. The vaccine, supplied by Türkiye's Dollvet, will be distributed to provinces in the coming days based on animal population and risk, the agriculture department said in a statement.

LHWP’s Senqu bridge officially inaugurated

The longest bridge in Lesotho, and a critical component of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) Phase II, is officially being inaugurated by King Letsie III, along with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Lesotho Prime Minister Sam Matekane on Wednesday. The 825 m Senqu bridge, along with the Mabunyane and Khubelu bridges, ensures that communities in Mokhotlong district retain access to the national road network as the Polihali reservoir fills to its full supply level.
