Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

ACTOM building 1 000 MVA Swellendam substation for Overberg wind farm

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) division of electromechanical equipment manufacturer ACTOM is building the 1 000 MVA main transmission substation for the Overberg wind farm, near Swellendam, in the Western Cape. The substation, which will be completed in December, will ensure electricity generated by the wind farm, being developed by renewable energy independent power producer (IPP) Red Rocket, can be delivered reliably into the grid.
