Renewable energy engineering firm AfiCoast Engineers SA has announced that a new company,
AfriCoast Energy, will now be responsible for all future renewable energy projects - particulary
wind and solar - while it will also play a key role in guiding AfriCoast Engineers' current
basket of renewable energy projects.

50 MW Ilikwa solar PV facility in Free State achieves commercial operation

Renewable energy company Mainstream South Africa's 50 MW Ilikwa solar PV facility has achieved commercial operation and marks the start of supplying commercial electricity to multiple private commercial and industrial customers. Located near Parys, in the Free State, the project is part of South Africa's rapidly expanding private electricity market and reflects the accelerating liberalisation of South Africa's electricity market.
